In response to the transphobic gathering organized in Mississauga on September 20th, we organized a counterprotest.

QTBIPOC sauga is often a disruptive voice, bringing critical perspectives on issues in Peel. This has included speaking to political representatives, the municipalities and non-profit organizations. 

How do you ensure that your work is informed by the needs of QTBIPOC folks? 

We wrote a letter to the Interim Chief of Peel at Peel Regional Police to demand that there be no uniformed police officers at the Pride in the Square event in Brampton in July 2019. Our demand was met!

Since 2019, we have followed up to ensure that there are no uniformed police at the event. This has stayed true!
